Making a new friend and heading home

Ferrari and I headed towards Havelock and realised the town was buzzing with the Mussel Festival. A motorhome driving through narrow, crowded streets is great inspiration for a terrifying nightmare, so we found a quiet camping spot away from all the action. One of Lawson's daughters, Kathryn, lives in Havelock. What a blessing to have met her over a quick cup of coffee. She is a lovely lady who is into all sorts of arts and crafts with a black cat named Jesse. Ferrari and left with a bag full of grapes.

Afterwards it was time to head towards Picton. The plan was to stay the night and move on to Picton the next morning, but the marine forecast for Cook Strait predicted seas of a more unstable nature any time after Sunday morning for the rest of the week. So... it was time...

Our quiet camping spot in Havelock had a mountain view.
